The U.S. State Department announced the 2025 International Women of Courage (IWOC) Award recipients. Hosted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and First Lady Melania Trump, the ceremony recognizes extraordinary women who champion justice and human rights.
Honorees include:

- Amit Soussana (Israel) – Survivor and hostage rights activist
- Major Velena Iga (Papua New Guinea) – Anti-trafficking leader
- Angelique Songco (Philippines) – Marine conservationist
- Georgiana Pascu (Romania) – Disability rights activist
- Zabib Musa Loro Bakhit (South Sudan) – Women’s rights leader
- Namini Wijedasa (Sri Lanka) – Investigative journalist
- Amat Al-Salam Al-Hajj (Yemen) – Advocate for abductees
- Women Student Protest Leaders (Bangladesh) – Honorary awardees
The awardees will participate in leadership programs to further their impact worldwide.
