A top Chinese official criticized President Trump’s tariff war against China, calling it “extremely shameless” and predicting it will cause suffering for “those peasants in the US.”
Xia Baolong, overseeing Hong Kong and Macao, condemned the 145% tariff on goods from the region as “brutally unreasonable.”
According to Xia, US actions threaten China’s survival and will eventually backfire. He emphasized that,” bullying tactics” like these have never worked on the Chinese people.
China has retaliated with a 125% tariff on US goods, further escalating the trade conflict.
