Cortney Merritts, husband of former Congresswoman Cori Bush, has been indicted by the DOJ for alleged COVID fraud. Merritts is accused of filing fraudulent applications with the Small Business Administration to obtain more than $20,000 through the EIDL and PPP programs.
- Merritts claimed Vetted Couriers had six employees and generated $32,000 in revenue for an $8,500 EIDL loan.
- He also fraudulently sought additional funds for a sole proprietorship with false claims of ten employees and exaggerated income.
This adds to previous controversies surrounding Bush’s campaign expenditures on Merritts.
